Biography
Matthew A. Flamm is a founder and manager of Flamm & Teibloom LLC. He graduated from Northwestern University and from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and graduated magna cum laude. He is a past Chair of the Real Estate Taxation Committee and a member of the Election Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and is a member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
Matt has spoken at seminars regarding real estate tax sales and tax deed proceedings, Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges, and using Individual Retirement Account (IRA) funds to invest in real estate. He is a former Associate Editor of the State and Local Taxation Council newsletter for the Illinois State Bar Association and a former member of the Judicial Evaluation Committee of the Chicago Council of Lawyers. Matt has been appointed by state and federal courts to be a receiver and special bankruptcy counsel.
Matt has helped many charitable, educational, and religious organizations obtain exemption from Illinois real estate taxes. He has worked as an election protection attorney in several states and has litigated election law cases, and he has run for judge. His practice is concentrated in the organization and representation of businesses and not-for-profit entities; business and real estate transactions and litigation; election law; and real estate taxation, exemption, and tax sale matters.
